Una McKevitt is an Irish writer, director, and book editor whose career spans theatre, comedy, live podcasts, and publishing. She is currently expanding into television, working as a scriptwriter on a new animated series from David Walliams’ King Bert Productions and Elk Studios. In addition, she is developing original TV series both independently and in collaboration.

Una's theatre work includes One Good Turn, commissioned by the Abbey Theatre and premiered on its main stage in June 2021. Directed by Emma Jordan, the play was praised by The Guardian for its “ordinariness artfully shaped into 80 minutes,” and by The Sunday Business Post as a thrilling return to live theatre for the Abbey. Her new play Fair Deal is currently under option with the Abbey Theatre.

As a live podcast director, Una toured with the arena stage show of the hugely successful podcast My Therapist Ghosted Me (Global), starring Vogue Williams and Joanne McNally. In 2023/24, she directed the Irish stage tour of the Spencer & Vogue Podcast (Global), featuring Vogue Williams and Spencer Matthews.

Collaborations with comedians have been a defining feature of Una’s career. She has worked extensively with PJ Gallagher, creating the acclaimed production Madhouse (2018), directing his 2017 stand-up show Dickhead, and developing Madhouse as an animated series with D11 Stories. She has also collaborated with Joanne McNally on several projects, including her one-woman theatre show Bite Me and the stand-up tour The Prosecco Express.

Una began her publishing career as an editor with PJ Gallagher’s memoir Madhouse, published by Penguin Random House in 2023. She went on to edit Big Mouth by presenter and podcaster Vogue Williams, published by HarperCollins UK in May 2025.

Una lives in Dundalk, Co. Louth.
